Welcome to Hockley Heath Residents Association and our new website. This site has been set up specifically for matters relating to the Residents Association. There is another website at www.hockleyheath.org.uk that has lots of information about the Hockley Heath community, local clubs, businesses and the Parish Council. It's well worth a visit.

The recent huge turnout by villagers last year to public meetings about Aylesbury House and the Gypsy Site has demonstrated the need for better communication amongst local residents. We all wish to know what's going on so that we can make informed decisions and speak as one voice when needed.

Rightly or wrongly, many villagers feel that decisions affecting the village are being considered behind closed doors, and whilst this often isn't the case, it's true to say that information doesn't always filter down to those who are potentially affected by them. We would very much like to change that.

Your Residents Association has therefore decided to launch this website to provide a central space to keep everyone as well informed as possible and to enable villagers to voice their opinions.

We will therefore greatly value your contributions and suggestions. Please use the links to the left to navigate to an appropriate page from where you can email us. If you don't have an email address then please write to us and post your letter into the HHRA suggestions box in Hockley Heath Post Office.

Whenever possible we will take on board your comments and publish what you have to say. We need you to tell us about any issues in the village and what you think about them. Some issues can be emotive and strong views expressed so contibutions may need to be edited where remarks could cause offence.

We also need you to tell us what you would like in the way of social activities. We are volunteers and few in number so we're limited as to what we can do, so if you can help in any way, however small, it would be appreciated not only by us but by all in the village. At the moment we are seeking volunteers to help us bring back the Bonfire Night fireworks party. If you can help please let us know.

We would like to develop an email list of helpers so that we can contact you when we do need a little help, and then you can tell us if you're available or not. It can be just simple things like marshalling or helping with an event. It's fun and you'll get to meet other people in the village.

The key message is to please visit this website as often as you can. We'll keep it as up to date as possible so that as soon as we know, you'll know too!
