LATEST NEWS....

As at mid-month (January) there has been a 26% return rate of Questionnairs. Distributors will be calling to collect as many of the outstanding ones as possible before the end of the month.

HISTORY....

The Hockley Heath Village Plan was instigated by the local Parish Council in order that the views of local residents can be taken into account, as part of the Solihull Local Development Framework (LDF), in future planning decisions.

A Hockley Heath Village Plan (HHVP) Team was formed in March 2011 to find out what issues are important to the residents and businesses of Hockley Heath and what you would like done about them.

Over the Summer months they:-

  • met with many groups and organisations in the Parish;
  • held four open meetings;
  • had a stand at the Village Fete;
  • and circulated the Parish Council Leaflets to every household with details of the village plan project.

The HHVP Team is made up of village residents who are doing this in a voluntary capacity and working closely with Hockley Heath Residents’ Association and the Parish Council.

The team now have a good idea about most of the local issues that people in the Village care about or are concerned about.  However they appreciate that it was not possible to engage with all of the village residents, so a Questionnaire was developed that seeks to explore these issues in more depth and find out what you would like to see changed and/or improved.

The Questionnaire was delivered to all Hockley Heath households before Christmas 2011 by an official distributor, who had an ID Badge and was a member of the Hockley Heath Residents’ Association, Parish Council or Village Plan Team.

The HHRA hope that all residents will realise the importance of this Questionnaire and complete and return it by the due date. Just as a little incentive there is a prize draw page on the back page.

The Questionnaires are anonymous but of course you have to fill in your name and address on the the prize draw entry page. These entry pages will therefore be separated from the Questionnaires before they go off for independent assessment.

As our distributors are volunteers, we would be grateful if you would kindly take your completed Questionnaires to Hockley Heath Post Office where there will be a special receptacle for them. Alternatively the Distributors will call back to collect them.

If you have any doubts about the authenticity of the person collecting your Questionnaire, please phone West Midlands Police on 0345 113 5000 and ask to be connected to Solihull Police Station.

If you require more information about the Questionnaire, please contact the Parish Council Clerk, Hilary Goodreid on 07703 647883 or e-mail her on  hhpc2009@hotmail.com

SOLIHULL LDF

The local development framework (LDF) is a collection of local development documents produced by the local planning authority which collectively form the spatial planning strategy for its area. The core strategy within the LDF sets out the vision, strategic objectives and delivery strategy for achieving these. The LDF as a whole is the spatial expression of the sustainable community strategy (SCS) for the area.

Each LDF includes one or more statutory development plan documents, which are used by planning authorities to control development and determine planning applications. These can include area action plans (AAPs) or supplementary development documents (SDDs), which set more detailed planning requirements.

The aim of the new LDF system is to allow local planning authorities to respond to changing local circumstances. It also provides a greater emphasis on community consultation and engagement in the planning process, when compared with the previous system.
